I always fancy a high-speed train that has route marked away from the existing KTM line, make that like S'pore/JB -> Melaka -> KL so that the old line can still preserve its charms albeit double-tracked.

CJ Gill Oh no!!! [total : 5 comment(s) to this image]
Why can't KTMB think of upgrading the lines and extending the KTMB Commuter Service to Port Dickson? I'm sure a lot of people travel from Port Dickson to Seremban and visa versa for work.
I was hoping for the upgrades to take place similar to the Sentul - Batu Caves route.
The Seremban - Port Dickson line means a lot to me because my grandfather was the Station Master for both these railway station in the late 50's.

Westinghouse TGV [total : 5 comment(s) to this image]
...carries in them track repair equipment and lots of spare rails...
When a section of rails need change due to a defect or wear, the TGV will be assigned to repair them..

It's a matter of cutting the defective rails away and replacing them with new ones and done within a specified time.

The structure cage here is able to transfer new rails via pulleys and chain blocks (some motorised) onto the tracks at a fraction of time.

Westinghouse Anti-climbers.. [total : 2 comment(s) to this image]
Some anti-climbers are manufactured with aluminium mesh within them...this one has lateral large grooves to 'lock' both car bodies on possible impact during a collision...the primary purpose is the same.

Quotes:
In the event when the coupler collapses as during a head-on collision, the anti-climbers fitted between cars enmesh (the meshing of opposing horizontal ridges on the anti-climbers) to keep the car ends downward instead of upward. This will prevent the cars from literally climbing over each other leading to a possible derailment. While holding the cars downwards, the honeycomb aluminum mesh inside the anti-climbers will also absorb the horizontal force of collision before the car-ends come in contact (in fact, the couplers are our first-line of defence and the anti-climbers are the second-line of defence before the carbody frames actually come into contact.

These CCL trains come under C830 from Alstom too.

These trains were tested at crush load at 6 pax per sq. metre...bringing it a maximum of 931 passengers per 3-car train.

Sub-contractor: Knorr Bremse.
These trains were already on a France test-track in 2003.

Not able to get manuals yet..maybe soon...

What i experienced in the new system is that...the main monitoring computers that oversees train operations are very sensitive still.....they automatically override and shut down the 3rd rail when it 'sensed' that the train id did not match!!
Teething problems...

Too much of artificial intelligence? (or predetermined program) is not so good after all....

layout - cantilevered seats, no underseat cover necessary. Longer windscreen glass so no windscreen panel is needed. Makes for easy and minimal-headache installation.
