In an attempt to avoid a car that suddenly got into his way, the van driver had crashed onto the metal fences outside the former Singapore Railway Station. His head rammed into the windscreen, injuring himself and had to be sent to hospital as a result.

This accident happened on the morning of 14 June 2014 at around 0830am, at the entrance of former Singapore Railway Station along the Keppel Road.

When contacted by the newspaper, the police told that the accident happened at the junction of Keppel Road and Cantonment Link, and the 61-year old van driver was then sent to Singapore General Hospital.

A friend of the van driver commented that the van was travelling towards Telok Blangah, when a black private car that U-turned into Keppel Road suddenly drove onto the van's path. In order to avoid that black car, the van driver immediately switched over to another lane but the collision still happened, and the van then rammed onto the kerb and crashed into the fencings of the former Singapore Railway Station.

As observed at the scene, one pillar was destroyed by the van's crashing and split into many pieces scattering onto the pedestrian walkway.

The van driver's friend also added that the driver's head crashed onto the windscreen during the accident and felt dizzy, that he had to stay in the hospital for 12 hours for medical observation.

................

What a reckless driver! That is why we must obey the Restricted Speed Limit in ALL Types of Roads and Highways!!! Driving vehicles with too fast and too speed are prone to lost control than lead to accidents! Otherwise the impact from the accident due to the too fast drive may lead into serious casualties or fatalities!!!
