Gallery...

I don't know about you guys but I am getting tired of the gallery being filled with images that has more to do with 'art'(angle, colour etc) rather than train/railways itself. Not only that, they're too numerous (uploaded at several gos, sometimes picture from the same session/outing can be seen uploaded later, as if purposely done to get frontpaged images), making it difficult for me to sift through new photos by other members (And I am on broadband, mind you, so I can't imagine what kind of difficulty a dialup user would face in trying to view new images).

I hope those with too much free time and a digital camera to please have courtesy for surfers into the gallery. Sometimes we missed truly significant photos by other members because several photos taken from different angle with different hue of the same thing fills the 'New Images' slot. I am not trying to nanny anybody around seeming that even the webmaster isn't complaining (he already posted rules and regulations about posting pics into the gallery, which I think most didn't bother reading) but please have some common sense. Numbers don't matter, it's quality that we're all after (And not just photo quality, but rather, that of the thing being photographed e.g. rare loco, old photo, etc.!)

That's it, I'm so sick of immature behaviour from members that keep flooding (banjir/bah/imcui) the gallery with irrelevant pics just to get front page coverage.Latest case, today!Come one guys, can't you see it?Is it only Hafizia and me only noticing it?So many pics of the same thing, albeit in different angle is wasting a lot of this server's space.Kiasu-ism doesn't belong here.We thought we outsmart this flooding by increasing the thumbnails in the front page of the gallery but alas...some are too thick-skinned to get the message.Do I have to name name?If this prevail, I propose that members be limited to only a few upload per day except for special occasion.Hopefully (and that's a very big HOPE)by then, will we get quality over quantity pics.Those who still want to show off their so called masterpieces can do that at www.webshots.com with 240 pics max for each legitimate account and then link it here.

I agree with both of you.This has to stop. I apologize for the ignorance of this matter. I agree with Benny's proposal of limiting to few uploads per-day. If it is in a case of which certain members still don't understand the meaning of 'banjir' (it is very annoying), then it would be implemented.

Anyway, this matter would be brought up this coming Monday (gotong-royong) Thank you for your concern.

OK here is my opinion:

Rare photos, unusual or a little inordinary sighthings, group outings, things that we are not blase about, and above all, about railways. Interior pictures and panels and whatnot should be kept to a minimum - I mean, who wants to see the same picture of an LRT seat over and over again?! I shudder to think if the certain photographer actually detailed every inch of the train - seat arm rest is also there! Tiang beam stesen pun ada! Tandas?

Then there are repeats of the same thing from a different angle and colour. Putting aside the legality of one subject of the picture (a few others and I went there after asking for official permission and escorted by an auxiliary policeman, and I didn't do that for nothing), there were *17* photos of one carriage, all differing from each other only by color and angle from which it was taken (I leave out here the fact that photos of it has been uploaded before). If that isn't flooding I don't know what is!

If still blur, I think the galleries of the following photographers can give you an idea of what is ideal to post: stanley, Jason, Benny Tan, zakaria, Eddy Sumantri Talhah.

Mr Jason said there is some technical problem...he called the server admin to fixed ... i report some problem to him and he said he will fixed slowly..
