Before uploading your photos to the gallery, make sure it has been resized to suitable resolution and also file size.
1. Resolution
Usually outputs from digital camera have resolution above 1600x1200. Resize it to atleast 1000(height) unless your photo needs to show small details for example a map or aerial pic. You can use Slowview to resize your pics.
2. File size
Images should also be compressed. While resizing, adjust JPEG quality to 60. The quality difference isn't much but it reduces file sizes up to half most of the time. Slowview can be used for this too. Click on the thumbnail below to see the difference between original image and compressed image.
